Can you imagine a city centre of rooftop edible gardens, vegetable growing, and beekeeping? A city where food growing is an everyday occurance? Mikey Tomkins has drawn a new ‘Edible Map’ of Peterborough, commissioned by The Green Backyard, that highlights the many hidden potential spaces for growing food. During September he will be leading public walks exploring how Peterborough city centre could be transformed to encourage and support local urban agriculture.
September dates

  • Wednesday 16th: 1pm & 5.15pm
  • Thursday 17th: 1pm & 5.15pm
  • Friday 18th: 10am, 1pm & 5.15pm
  • Saturday 19th: 11am, 3pm
  • Sunday 20th: 5.15pm
  • Monday 21st: 12 noon & 5.15pm
  • Tuesday 22nd: 12 noon & 5.15pm
  • Wednesday 23rd: 10am & 1pm

Walk duration: 1½ hrs starting at the Guild Hall.
Cost: £3 including artist’s map of Peterborough.
Proceeds to The Green Backyard.
