The Green Backyard,

Join us for this free 3 week online course with tutor Helen. This course will include:

Compass: Core Values, Principles and Beliefs
Painting yourself into the picture. Core values are traits or qualities that are not just worthwhile, they represent an individual’s or a group’s highest priorities, deeply held beliefs, and core, fundamental driving forces. They are the heart of what you, your group and its volunteers stand for in the world.
Core values are intrinsic to form your vision and what you wish to present to the world outside of yourself and/ or your the group/organisation/company.

Identity: Intersectionality, Privilege and Oppression
This weeks sets out to broach the subject of ‘identity’ and to grapple with the power dynamics of privilege and oppression. We will also take a look at understanding the concept of Intersectionality.

Community Care: Conflict and Safe Space:
This session is intended to help make our spaces as safe and inclusive as possible. This collaborative process is designed to empower people to constructively challenge behaviours that compromise the safety and inclusivity of space – from telling someone who has said something racist that this is not OK and why, to supporting someone who has suffered serious harm by holding the person who harmed them accountable. Aligning our core values, beliefs and principles with community, voluntary and work spaces we are apart of.

This course will be run online. Please email clt@thegreenbackyard.com to confirm your place and find out any further information.

This course is part of the Community Learning Trust programme provided through City College Peterborough and the Cambridgeshire Peterborough Combined Authority.
