Did you know that there are around 30 different species of worm in the UK? They help to protect our soil and our vegetables to grow, and form an important part of many other creatures’ diet.
Join us on a family day and help us survey the GBY’s worm population as we take part in Riverford’s Big Worm Dig citizen science project. Find out more by reading Riverford’s Big Worm Dig Guide.
As well as the Big Worm Dig we’ll have other wildlife activities including pond dipping, a talk/demonstration about natural beekeeping, and information stalls, and of course you’ll be able to enjoy walking around our gardens and looking out for butterflies, bees and other insects (and we’ll also have an organised bug walk with an expert from Buglife).
We’ll also have all our usual craft activities including clay modelling, willow weaving and pizza making, including a special Kids’ Craft Session.
