Louise Coles

Louise comes to us from a background in education, where as Head of Sixth Form at a local school, she set up a volunteering programme, connecting students with their community. She volunteers herself locally, working with refugees and is enjoying putting her language skills to good use and supporting refugees to integrate successfully. A regular participant in litter picks along the riverside, Louise supports local community groups in clearing waste from the waterway. She also participated in greening up Central Ward last year by helping with the Gladstone in Bloom project. She admits that her gardening philosophy leans more towards the let it grow ‘wild’ than ‘manicured’ school but the medlar, apricot, mulberry, quince and fig trees in her garden are flourishing.
Louise began working in Peterborough 19 years ago, arriving from Cairo where she taught for many years. Louise is currently a city councillor representing Fletton and Woodston Ward.
