Jay Gearing is a multi award winning filmmaker and artist, a father of two and musician born and raised in Peterborough. Jay’s work is almost always socially engaged using music video, documentaries and screendance to tell a story.

Jay was a trustee of The Green Backyard when the land was secured in September 2017 and a short stint as chair after that.

He firmly believes that Peterborough needs to secure places like the GBY, which are few and far between, to assure that culture, environmentalism and connection to nature is assured for the city and it’s inhabitants
